Managing Partner, Co-Founder
John West co-founded Flatrock Wealth Partners in 2022. He brings over twenty-five years of investment experience. John is a member of the Flatrock Management and Investment Committees and is involved in all aspects of the firm’s operations, investment management functions and client experience.
Previously, John spent fifteen years at Research Affiliates, a global asset manager known for its work in asset allocation and equity indexing. John led virtually all aspects of client facing and product management functions driving growth in assets under management from $15 billion to a peak of $205 billion. John also worked closely with financial advisors on a number of firm initiatives including the development of multi-asset model portfolios with tax loss harvesting. He launched the Advisor Symposium, the firm’s first dedicated client educational conference; working with leading academics and practitioners to develop robust insights for wealth managers and multi-family office allocators.
A recognized thought leader, John’s original research and publications have been cited in Barron’s, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Institutional Investor, InvestmentNews and Advisor Perspectives. He also co-authored Fundamental Index: A Better Way to Invest (Wiley 2008) an honorable mention award winner at the American Publishers Awards for Professional and Scholarly Excellence (The PROSE Awards).
Prior to Research Affiliates, John spent ten years at Wurts & Associates (now Verus), a national institutional investment consulting firm. At Wurts, he managed the firm’s overall research effort and served as lead advisor to over $1.7 billion in client assets.
Mr. West graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA® Society of Orange County.
Kevin Winters is a co-founder of Flatrock Wealth Partners, LLC. He is a member of the Flatrock Management Committee, responsible for leading Flatrock’s advisory board and strategic direction of the firm. Mr. Winters advises affluent families in customizing investments and wealth management strategies that co-align with the clients’ vision.
For over sixteen years, Kevin was an Executive Vice President at PIMCO, a global fixed income and alternatives asset manager based in Newport Beach, California. Kevin was a Product Strategist in PIMCO’s Product Strategy Group, with a focus on opportunistic credit interval funds, private real estate debt and equity solutions and multi-asset portfolios for financial advisors, family offices, and registered investment advisors. In a prior role, Kevin was the business head for PIMCO’s RIA and multi-family office team where he led distribution strategy and managed the US team of account managers overseeing $45B in PIMCO assets across alternatives and fixed income. Kevin also served as a member of PIMCO’s global wealth management operating committee.
Before his career at PIMCO, Mr. Winters was an executive with AllianceBernstein and Trust Company of the West (TCW) where he was responsible for structuring the single/multi-family office and RIA business.
Mr. Winters has over 23 years of capital markets experience, holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst® (CAIA®). In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending time outdoors in the sand or snow with his wife, three sons and dog. Kevin also enjoys mountain biking, surfing, running and scuba diving.
Client Service Associate
Caroline Greene joined Flatrock in 2023 and currently serves as a Client Service Associate responsible for developing and running efficient operational processes to support our clients.
Prior to joining Flatrock, Caroline worked in international client services at Bridgewater Associates, supporting institutional clients in the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. Caroline was responsible for running operations on the client facing teams, handling day-to-day communication with clients and worked closely with the advisors to support the execution of the commercial strategy. Previously, she worked as a Client Service Analyst for the Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners Investor Relation Team where she was responsible for the creation of the quarterly letters, marketing materials and client communication.
Building on her passions for wellness and personal growth, Caroline has also provided coaching intended to help people find meaning and creating fulfilling experiences.
Caroline received her B.A. in Business Administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Caroline enjoys spending time on the beach, hiking, traveling and farm-to-table cooking.
The Advisory Board’s mission is to bring the voice of high net-worth investors to Flatrock in meeting the needs of investors.
